Lars Jordahn has been named worldwide head of Maersk Air Cargo, with effect from March 1, 2024.
Jordahn, who will be based in Copenhagen, Denmark, will succeed Peter Corfitsen as chief executive officer. Corfitsen will be moving into a new position at Maersk.
Jordahn has worked in executive and worldwide aviation and logistics jobs for more than 30 years.
His most recent position was chief executive officer of West Atlantic, a Swedish lessor and operator of freighters. He started the position in January 2019 and departed after five years in December of the previous year.
He was also TNT Airways’s managing director of worldwide airlines, based in Liege, Belgium, before this.
Other positions held include managing director of DHL Express Sweden and managing director of Amapola Flyg, a regional freight and passenger airline based in Sweden.
After previously dismissing the notion, Maersk recently announced that it would again explore making a bid for top-4 airfreight forwarder DB Schenker.
