The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has applauded the extraordinary accomplishment of Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Akpevwe Ogboru—popularly known as Tracta 2—who successfully completed a 35-day solo motorbike expedition from Nigeria to Belgium. She arrived triumphantly at the Nigerian Embassy in Brussels at exactly 12:47 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
Beginning her journey on August 1, 2025, Assistant Comptroller Ogboru covered a distance of over 10,265 kilometers, traversing two continents and passing through ten countries before reaching her destination. The remarkable feat, undertaken under the theme “Ride for Women Inclusivity and Cross-Border Research”, not only tested her endurance but also amplified advocacy for gender inclusivity, girl-child empowerment, and cross-border cultural research.
Her arrival at the Nigerian Embassy in Brussels was met with jubilation, admiration, and national pride. The odyssey, the NCS noted, is both a testament to Ogboru’s resilience and a symbol of the strength and determination of Nigerian women breaking barriers across diverse sectors.
The Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, on behalf of officers and men of the Service, commended Assistant Comptroller Ogboru for her courage and vision. He described her accomplishment as an inspiration to Customs officers, Nigerians, and the global community.
“Her pioneering effort demonstrates that with determination and purpose, boundaries can be transcended. It reinforces our collective belief in resilience, innovation, and inclusivity as values that drive both institutional and societal progress,” he said.
As she embarks on her return journey to Nigeria, the NCS reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that project a positive national image, strengthen international ties, and promote conversations around women and children empowerment.
