The Comptroller General of Customs (CGC) Adewale Adeniyi, in the company of the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun and his Deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, have inspected the proposed building site of the Nigeria Customs Service Training College, Federal Operations Unit headquarters and warehouse in Ogun state.

The CGC at the site on Thursday, 15 August 2024, expressed delight at the pace and progress of the project. “I’m indeed very happy, highly elated to be here for this project inspection, having witnessed what we have all seen coming to this place. The project is right on course, and by the grace of God, when I see the enthusiasm, pace of work, seriousness and professionalism displayed on this project, I have a feeling that it might be delivered ahead of time”.

“As the CG of Customs, I want to pledge my commitment and every support, every guidance that you need to make us deliver this project on schedule will be given to you”, he added.

He appreciated the Governor for the role he had played in the conception and execution of the project.

In response, Governor Abiodun praised the leadership of the CGC for embracing the project conceived by his predecessor.

“This is what we call Customs Village, and it is right in our Airport village, Ogun State metropolis. And I am proud to say that Nigeria Customs Service was the first allotee; they are our anchor tenant. I am so full of joy and extremely proud. This project started about a year ago, and with how they are going, they will finish it in less than two years”, the Governor stated.

“I want to thank officers and men of the Nigeria Customs Service; your presence here will not only add to our security but will further strengthen it”, he emphasised.

Governor Abiodun and his Deputy, earlier played host to the CG and his entourage in his office, where he assured of his state’s support to ensure that the project is expeditiously completed.
